Entirely in synch with MJO's fun-loving energy and humour, this album was written while touring with Miho’s baby bump, and recorded during the lead up to the baby's arrival. The ultimate tour diary to motherhood, Bumpy Road introduces the fresh flavour of world music to Miho’s more familiar J-pop style jazz compositions.

Combining the skilled musicianship and friendship of the Miho's Jazz Orchestra band members with the expert craftsmanship of studio engineer Olly Harmer, Bumpy Road captures the dynamic mood swings of the emotional pregnancy roller-coaster. Sprinkled with mystery and uncertainty about the changes to come, this album blends the warmth and authenticity of MJO's powerful live performance with the excitement, joy and anticipation surrounding the genesis of a new life.

Following the successful release of MJO's live album MJO Live @ The Lab (2014), Bumpy Road was recorded live at the Lab Recording Studios in Auckland, marking the sixth release for Miho’s Jazz Orchestra since their formation in 2011. Their most recent studio album Mystery Banana (2014) reached #13 on the New Zealand Album Charts. 2014 also saw Miho tour Japan with MJO and record her EP side project Memphis Dreamin' (2014) at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. credits released October 8, 2015

Memphis Dreamin' was recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. The four-track EP was recorded on a summer evening, almost all in a single take. Brimming with the warmth and authenticity of a live performance, each track carries the magical spell of this amazing studio where the souls of legends still live in the walls, and where the natural acoustics are so pure that every ounce of the astounding atmosphere is captured. According to Matt Ross-Spang, the Sun Studio engineer responsible for maintaining and treasuring the original "Sun" sound, this is most likely the first J-Pop style recording Sun Studio has ever seen.

Joining Miho on this exciting new release are Sun Studio musicians JP Keith (guitars), Ricky Steff (keyboardist for Luceo), Dave Roe (bassist for the late Johnny Cash), John Argroves (drums), and her husband and violinist Pascal Roggen (MJO).

Recorded and mixed by Matt Ross-Sprang at the Sun Studio, Memphis Mastered by Don Bartley at the Benchmark Mastering, Sydney

Enter a new dimension in the world of jazz and experience eight instrumental tracks exploring Miho's globe-trotting creative background in rock, ska, classical and world music.

Written, arranged and produced by Miho Wada and performed by her fantastic Jazz Orchestra, “EXIT 621” was recorded straight off the back of their sell-out South Island tour. Contagiously catchy and instantly uplifting, the album’s title was inspired by Miho's recent attempt to “exit” from her diet the flavour enhancer E621, commonly known as MSG.

Capturing Miho's positive outlook on life, and combining it with just a hint of Japanese nostalgia, “EXIT 621” seamlessly blends stylish contemporary jazz with Miho's unique pan-pacific flavour.
